Authors, reviewers and readers may submit a reasoned appeal or complaint concerning editorial procedure, publication ethics, conflicts of interest, discrimination, data handling, metadata accuracy or administrative service.
Appeals
An appeal should identify the manuscript or article, explain the alleged procedural or factual error and provide supporting evidence. Disagreement with an academic judgment alone is not sufficient unless a material error, conflict or unfair process is shown.
Independent handling
Where practical, a complaint should be reviewed by a person who was not directly responsible for the disputed decision. Retaliation against a good-faith complainant is not permitted.
